Q4 and 2025 Planning
Can you believe September has come & gone already? I don’t know about you, but we are getting some crisp fall air around here, and that has me cozying into my office big time! We are hopefully a week away from starting harvest, so the final Q3 push is on. I absolutely cannot wait for the upcoming recharge & pray a smooth harvest awaits. 🚜
On a personal note this month we did a few wedding things! We had a friend take some candid photos with our horses on our Labor Day camping/riding trip & we LOVE them. We then picked a favorite & had my photographer/graphic designer sister create an awesome Save the Date announcement. We celebrated our 5 year dating anniversary on 9/23 & launched the official announcement. One more thing off that to-do list!
Slowly & steadily it will all get done… 💍

Q4 is fast approaching & it brings the pre-panic mode for most business owners. It’s that final push of the year to hit all the goals you had set for 2024, but also, the need to do some tax planning to balance out what will go to Uncle Sam.
If you haven’t already, we highly recommend reaching out to your tax accountant to book a tax planning session to get you through 12/31. This will help you maximize profits while minimizing what you will owe in for taxes.
Some things to bring up with your tax team:
They should have access to your QBO file to review your current financials, if not, please let us know.
What tax changes have happened in 2024 that may be advantageous to your business?
How can you maximize cash flow & profitability while reducing your taxable position?
While we don’t directly handle tax filings, we are here to collaborate with you and your tax team. If we haven’t met your tax accountant yet, please introduce us! Also, if you would like for us to sit in (virtually, of course) on your tax planning meeting we would be happy to do so! 🧾
~ What is in store for 2025?
Q. Are you changing anything in your app stack?
A. We are planning to keep it simple with our current setup. QBO, Gusto, & Melio have treated us well so far, and the new implementation of Keeper on a practice level is amazing!
There has been an update in Melio as they are switching to a subscription model. Clients may remain on the Go plan (free version) if they remove any additional users, which includes our accountant access, pay 10 or fewer invoices per month, and can still use some free ACH payments. We think this is the best option at least to finish out the year & assess before making any changes.
Q. What is your client capacity for the new year?
A. Due to the implementation of Keeper for task management, and the longevity of our client relationships, we are currently sitting with room for a few new clients in 2025.
We are currently working through discovery calls with those that have already asked about services in the new year. Once those are completed we will assess the final availability and open up the last spots for anyone still interested in joining our family for the coming year.
If you, or anyone you know, is considering outsourcing their accounting needs please give them our contact information and encourage them to reach out in a timely fashion! We focus on onboarding during Q4 so that we can hit the ground running in the new year.
